Subscriber-level post modification via unchecked AJAX authorization
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Authorization bypass in FARAZFRANK Filter Gallery 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify arbitrary WordPress posts. The ufg_save_gallery AJAX handler trusts the image_id parameter when selecting a post and writes its title, content, image-alt metadata, and ufg_gallery_* options without checking the caller's capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful exploitation changes site content and plugin configuration without granting code execution or data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
