Authenticated code execution via CI regex double free
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Double-free memory corruption in affected GitLab CE/EE 19.2–19.4 releases allows remote authenticated users to execute server code. The regular-expression parser releases the same memory twice while parsing a specially crafted expression supplied in CI/CD configuration. A valid account and permission to submit that configuration are required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary code in the GitLab server context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=19.2 <19.2.7
- Affected versionversion=19.3 <19.3.3
