Service hang via unchecked negative read length
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Denial of service in Luben zstd-jni 1.4.8-4 through 1.5.7-13 allows attackers to hang stream reads with a negative length. The synchronized ZstdInputStreamNoFinalizer.read() path omitted a negative-length check, so readInternal() returned zero and the wrapper loop repeated indefinitely while retaining the stream monitor. Reachability requires a caller-controlled length argument; the hang consumes the calling thread and blocks other threads from using the same stream.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
