HTTP request smuggling via transfer-coding suffix validation
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Netty 4.1.133.Final through 4.1.137.Final and 4.2.13.Final through 4.2.17.Final allows remote attackers to smuggle HTTP requests. HttpObjectDecoder.readHeaders treats a raw Transfer-Encoding value ending in chunked as valid instead of parsing and validating the final coding token across all header fields. An exposed HTTP/1 decoder behind a parser-differential intermediary is required, and successful exploitation injects arbitrary HTTP requests.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
