CVE-2026-89043Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Identity impersonation via unsigned assertion prepending

Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

XML signature wrapping in KrakenJS passport-saml-encrypted 0.1.13 and earlier allows remote attackers to impersonate SAML identities. validateSignature and validateResponse independently select the first Signature and Assertion nodes without confirming that the extracted assertion is signed. Exploitation requires any validly IdP-signed SAML message and accepts forged identity attributes, including elevated roles, as authenticated data.
