Physical root access via passwordless UART account
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Missing authentication in Botslab G980H Dash Cam firmware 58_QHG980HMCN5291SysFW+ allows physically proximate attackers to gain root access. The UART-exposed root account accepts a connection without requesting a password and prints the device's WiFi password during startup. Physical access to the camera and a UART connection are required; successful access grants a privileged system interface and exposes the WiFi credential.
