Host source-file disclosure via unchecked path resolution
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Path traversal in the code.find MCP tool in Knowns 0 through 0.33.0 allows remote authenticated users to read host source files. handleCodeFind passes the raw path to findCodeFiles, which accepts absolute paths or resolves traversal segments with filepath.Join without checking project-root containment. Any standard MCP permission preset, including read-only access, exposes recognized source files readable by the server process; file writes and service interruption are not reported.
