Code execution via unfiltered cluster-message deserialization
Published Oct 19, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in Apache Camel's JGroups consumer allows remote attackers to execute code through cluster messages. JGroupsEndpoint.createExchange(Message) obtains the body through Message.getObject(), after JGroups deserializes ObjectMessage payloads on its receive thread without a filter unless a JVM-wide filter is configured. Exploitation requires cluster multicast-group or bind-port access and a usable classpath gadget chain; the default UDP channel requires no credentials and normally limits reachability to an adjacent network.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.0.0 <4.18.5
- Affected versionversion=4.19.0 <4.22.1
