Command execution via unescaped Gradle distribution URL
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Command injection in Mend.io Renovate before 44.14.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a crafted Gradle URL. The manager/gradle-wrapper module passes distributionUrl from gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.properties to the Gradle Wrapper CLI without shell escaping. Exploitation requires a self-hosted instance with binarySource=docker and gradleWrapper allowed as an unsafe execution, and commands run with the Renovate process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
