CVE-2026-88872Network attack vector

Channel password modification via tokenless GET request

Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in AVideo through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 allows remote attackers to alter channel passwords. The CustomizeUser setPassword.json.php endpoint accepts a state-changing GET request without validating a CSRF token and applies the supplied password to an arbitrary user. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit an attacker-controlled page, after which the administrator's browser sets or clears the targeted channel password.
