JavaScript execution via spoofed vCard iframe source
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Script injection in Evolution on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through an HTML email. A trusted vCard control handler assigns an attacker-controlled JavaScript URL directly to an iframe source, bypassing mail script restrictions. The victim must open the crafted message and click the spoofed control, after which script runs in the mail-viewing context.
