Stored XSS via untrusted modal event handlers
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Regular Labs Modals Pro 4.7.0 through 16.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. Ordinary article content can supply executable JavaScript Events such as on-open and on-closed because affected releases do not distinguish it from trusted extension configuration. Author-level content access is sufficient, and the code executes in browsers that render the stored modal content.
