Stored XSS via unauthenticated settings writes
Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026
Stored XSS in SUSE Rancher allows remote attackers to run script in users' browsers via unauthenticated public UI settings routes. Norman API request parsing lets method-override parameters turn intended read-only settings requests into writes, and a modified setting is rendered as raw HTML on the login page. A user must later open that page; the script can expose an administrator bootstrap password or hijack an active administrator session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
