File disclosure via XSLT external entity resolution
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
XXE in Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect 17.1 allows attackers to read local files through crafted XML in the XSLT Debugger. The parser resolves external entities from an external DTD referenced by the document's DOCTYPE instead of rejecting those references. Exploitation requires a user to load the crafted XML; the supplied evidence confirms file disclosure only in 17.1 and does not establish applicability to other versions.
