Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Stored XSS in Brady Holt jQuery googleslides 1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The googleslides_handler() function interpolates ten user-controlled shortcode values directly into single-quoted HTML attributes without esc_attr() sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level WordPress access is sufficient to store a payload that executes in the browser of any user who views the injected page.
