Service interruption via crafted SSL configuration
Published May 26, 2026 · Updated May 26, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in IBM HTTP Server 8.5 and 9.0 allows local users to interrupt service through writable configuration. IBM identifies the affected locus as mod_ibm_ssl handling of SSLStashFile with either SSLPKCSDriver or a non-URI SSLCRLHostname, but it has not disclosed the resource-consuming operation. Exploitation requires write access to server configuration and the uncommon directive combination, and can stop the HTTP service.
