Browser code execution via unsanitized Markdown conversion
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Cross-site scripting in APSL puput 1.2.1 through 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code in a victim's browser. EntryAbstract.save() passes attacker-controlled markdown_body text to markdown.markdown() and assigns the generated HTML to body without sanitizing dangerous markup. Exploitation requires Wagtail Editor privileges and a victim to render the crafted entry; the script runs in the victim's puput-site browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
