Service crash via crafted matrix decoding
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Buffer overflow in FalkorDB 4.20.1 through 4.20.4 allows attackers to crash the service via crafted matrix data. _Decode_GrB_Matrix trusts an attacker-controlled buffer length because its size check is an assertion removed from release builds. A short buffer is treated as a GraphBLAS container, causing out-of-bounds pointer writes and process termination; network authentication is required when Redis access controls are enabled.
