Stack corruption via mismatched line-column pointer
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Espruino 2v29 allows remote attackers to corrupt stack memory through JavaScript that raises an exception. The jslPrintTokenLineMarker() error-stack path passes a 4-byte int column address to jsvGetLineAndCol() as a size_t pointer, causing an 8-byte write into the smaller object. Only 64-bit builds are affected; the published record establishes adjacent stack-memory corruption but does not establish code execution or a reliable service crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
