Application crash via truncated unpadded JSON
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in simdjson 4.6.1 allows attackers to terminate an application by supplying truncated JSON to parse_unpadded(). json_iterator::walk_document() reads buf[len] after a final nested-array or nested-object token exhausts the input buffer. The application must pass attacker-controlled, unpadded JSON through the DOM parser; the reported consequence is a one-byte heap read and possible process termination.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
