Root command execution via stored FTP username
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
OS command injection in GeoVision GV-LPC2211 1.13 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute root commands. The FTP-account update path passes a stored FTP username containing shell metacharacters to a root-run shell without neutralization. Administrative control of the FTP username and a subsequent account update are required; successful exploitation grants arbitrary root command execution.
