Heap corruption via unvalidated traineddata template counts
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Heap out-of-bounds write in Tesseract 5.5.3 and earlier allows attackers to corrupt memory by loading a crafted .traineddata file. Classify::ReadIntTemplates uses file-supplied NumClassPruners, NumClasses, and NumProtoSets as loop bounds for pointer stores into fixed-capacity arrays. The legacy classifier must load the malicious model; initialization then corrupts the heap and crashes the process or enables controlled corruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
