CVE-2026-88050Public exploit

Service crash via unvalidated recoder code values

Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Tesseract 5.5.3 and earlier allows local users to crash OCR processes via crafted .traineddata files. RecodedCharID::DeSerialize accepts negative code values, causing ComputeCodeRange to create a zero-length range before SetupDecoder indexes is_valid_start_ with a wrapped negative index. The crafted recoder must be loaded by the LSTM engine; exploitation causes a wild-address crash or allocation failure rather than demonstrated controlled code execution.
