CVE-2026-88031Network attack vector

GridFS data deletion via query-operator injection

Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

GridFS injection in MongoDB Go Driver 1.0.0 through 1.17.9 and 2.0.0 through 2.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete chunks via IDs. GridFS delete methods place caller-supplied structured file IDs directly into database filters, so operators such as $ne become query conditions instead of literal values. Exploitation requires an affected application to pass a user-controllable structured ID; a broad match can remove every chunk in the bucket and leave stored files unreadable.
