Continued account access via skipped OAuth policy checks
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Open WebUI 0.8.0 through 0.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain access via OAuth token exchange. The endpoint in backend/open_webui/routers/auths.py reimplements identity lookup but issues a session without the callback's domain and role policy checks. Exploitation requires token exchange to be enabled, a relevant OAuth restriction, a valid provider token, and an existing linked or email-matched account; access continues only at the account's existing role.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
