Contributor-level payment configuration tampering via unchecked AJAX
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Missing authorization in Paymob for WooCommerce before 4.1.14 allows remote authenticated users to alter payment-gateway configuration. Several administrative AJAX handlers execute configuration deletion, reset, and update operations without checking for a WooCommerce-management capability. Contributor-level access is sufficient to erase or replace settings, including stored payment credentials, disrupting or redirecting payment processing.
