Account compromise via unrestricted MFD login attempts
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Improper authentication throttling in PaperCut NG/MF before 26.0.3 allows remote attackers to brute-force existing user passwords. The MFD login path accepts rapid repeated failures without account lockout or rate limiting in some configurations. Network access to an affected MFD login endpoint is required; a successful guess compromises only the targeted existing account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
