Stored XSS via unescaped asset filenames
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Stored XSS in SiYuan before 3.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via a crafted asset filename. In app/src/search/assets.ts, the Search Assets result-row template inserts item.name into innerHTML without escapeHtml, while the backend preserves Name unchanged. Exploitation requires a victim to search assets containing the crafted filename and grants the script same-origin API access for application-state manipulation.
