Unauthenticated stored XSS via unescaped tracking measurements
Published Oct 11, 2026 · Updated Oct 11, 2026
Stored XSS in Web Vitals Tracking 5.4.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through submitted performance measurements. The WordPress plugin stores visitor measurements without validation and inserts them unescaped into an administrative page's script context. Submission requires no authentication; execution requires an administrator to view the affected page and occurs in that browser context.
