Unauthenticated data access via dropped endpoint authorization
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Authorization bypass in Red Hat build of Quarkus allows remote attackers to read or modify data via generated REST Data Panache endpoints. When @MethodProperties customizes an operation without re-declaring security roles, the generator drops class-level security requirements and leaves that endpoint accessible without authentication. Exposure requires this application configuration and network access to the generated operation; the operation determines which data can be read or modified.
