CVE-2026-87684

Unauthenticated SNMP daemon crash via context-name overflow

Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Brocade Communications Systems Fabric OS before 10.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash the SNMP daemon via SNMPv3. An internal statistics handler copies the packet's untrusted context name into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length. Under default configuration, unauthenticated attackers on an adjacent network can trigger memory corruption; Broadcom also identifies arbitrary code execution as a potential outcome.
