Sandbox-escaping code execution via ANGLE buffer overflow
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Buffer overflow in ANGLE in Google Chrome before 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to execute code outside the sandbox on Windows. Google has not disclosed the affected ANGLE function or the out-of-bounds operation that mishandles crafted HTML content. A user must load an attacker-controlled HTML page, after which successful exploitation runs code beyond Chrome's sandbox boundary.
