Privileged page access via Omnibox authorization bypass
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Google Chrome's Omnibox before 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to enter a privileged page through crafted HTML. Google has not disclosed the specific Omnibox code path or authorization check that mishandles the crafted page. A user must load attacker-controlled HTML; the bounded consequence is bypass of system access restrictions into the privileged page.
