Vendor-to-administrator takeover via missing target authorization
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Missing authorization in Dokan Inc.'s Dokan 5.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to take over administrators via REST requests. The CustomersController registers WooCommerce customer CRUD routes under /dokan/v1/customers/ but checks only the requester's vendor role rather than authorizing access to the target user. Vendor-level access is sufficient to read, modify, or delete any WordPress user, and changing an administrator's password grants full site control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
