Sandbox escape via missing extension authorization
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Missing authorization in Google Chrome Extensions before 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox via network traffic. Google has not disclosed which Extensions code path omits authorization or how crafted network traffic reaches the check. Exploitation requires prior renderer compromise and permits arbitrary code execution outside the renderer sandbox.
