Sandbox escape via Rust type confusion
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Type confusion in Rust in Google Chrome before 153.0.8010.36 on Windows allows remote attackers to execute code outside the sandbox via crafted HTML. Google has not disclosed the affected Rust component or the incompatible-type operation performed on attacker-controlled data. Exploitation requires a user to load the crafted page, after which attacker code runs beyond Chrome's sandbox boundary.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
