Sandbox escape via improper FileAPI input validation
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Improper input validation in Google Chrome FileAPI before 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to execute code outside the sandbox. Google has not disclosed the affected function, the rejected FileAPI property, or the validation operation that fails. Exploitation requires a previously compromised renderer and a crafted HTML page, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code beyond the renderer sandbox.
