Privileged-page access via extension input validation
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Improper input validation in Google Chrome Extensions before 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to cross web origin policy into a privileged page. Google identifies the Extensions component but has not published the input field or validation operation that accepts crafted network traffic. Reachability requires crafted network traffic, and the documented consequence is limited to crossing an origin boundary into a privileged page.
