NRF crash via stale HTTP stream reuse
Published May 17, 2026 · Updated May 17, 2026
Use-after-free in the NRF of Open5GS 2.7.0 through 2.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to crash the NRF service. discover_handler reuses a raw HTTP/2 stream pointer after nghttp2 frees the stream when the original client disconnects, causing an assertion abort when the delayed response is sent. Exploitation requires inter-PLMN forwarding with hnrf-uri and control over the timing between a valid Home-NRF response and the client disconnect.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
