Memory corruption via crafted PDF stack overflow

Published May 17, 2026 · Updated May 17, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Investintech Slim PDF Reader 2.0.0 through 2.0.13 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted PDF. The sub_3B4610 function in SlimPDFReader.exe writes attacker-controlled PDF data beyond a stack buffer, corrupting adjacent memory. Exploitation requires a user to open the file and can expose data, alter data, or crash the reader; all affected releases are unsupported.
