CVE-2026-86856

Host crash via undersized virtqueue buffers

Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026

Buffer overflow in DPDK's nfp vDPA driver allows attackers to crash the host via configurations with extra virtqueues. Stack and heap buffers accommodate only a single queue pair, but the driver overruns them when additional virtqueues are configured. Exposure requires the NFP device to operate in vDPA mode; the supplied record also identifies memory corruption, but does not establish attacker privileges or code execution.
