Host service interruption via stale session pointers
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Memory corruption in DPDK vhost-crypto allows guest OS users to interrupt the host backend through crypto-session requests. Session cleanup leaves a stale cached session pointer, and the lib/vhost data path attaches sessions without checking their type, causing use-after-free or type confusion. Exposure requires an attached virtio-crypto vhost-user backend; the published assessment establishes availability impact, but does not specify whether interruption is a crash or hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
