Unauthenticated vault unsealing via public API routes
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Missing authentication in Moltis through 20260818.10 allows remote attackers to unseal the secrets vault via two HTTP endpoints. The /api/auth/ public-path allowlist bypasses auth_gate, while vault_unlock_handler and vault_recovery_handler lack an AuthSession extractor. A correct vault password or stolen recovery key is still required; success decrypts provider keys, SSH keys, environment variables, and channel secrets.
