CVE-2026-86806Network attack vector

Host file access via empty root allowlist

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Path sandbox bypass in GeoLibre 2.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read or write host files through sidecar endpoints. The FastAPI sidecar initializes its conversion-root allowlist as empty when GEOLIBRE_CONVERSION_ROOTS is unset, and _is_within_roots then accepts every input and output path. Access to the sidecar and its token is required; desktop deployments leave the root setting unset by default, while Docker sets it.
