CVE-2026-86792Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Scheduler code execution via unrestricted callback imports

Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026

Code injection in Apache Airflow Apache Kafka provider 1.15.0 through 1.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scheduler code. KafkaBaseHook converts dotted-path callback values from a connection's extra field with import_string and passes the resulting callables to confluent-kafka without an allowlist. Exploitation requires permission to edit connections and an enabled Kafka event producer; DAG-run events invoke the callback in the scheduler, while Google Managed Kafka is not exposed.
