Published Sep 12, 2026 · Updated Sep 12, 2026
Stored XSS in doctfire WP Highlight Box 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The highlight-box shortcode renderer inserts some attribute values into page output without context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save a shortcode payload, which executes in a visitor's browser whenever the containing page is viewed.
