CVE-2026-86770Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via collation-folded federated usernames

Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026

Authentication bypass in Grokability Snipe-IT 8.6.3 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts through federated login. Saml::samlLogin queries users.username with an attacker-controlled SAML identifier under the accent- and case-insensitive utf8mb4_unicode_ci collation, then trusts the returned row without a byte-exact comparison. A valid IdP identity and an accent or case variant of a victim username are required; the resulting session inherits that victim's data access and state-changing privileges.
