CVE-2026-86742Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Spreadsheet formula execution via unescaped acceptance report

Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

CSV formula injection in Grokability Snipe-IT 8.6.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to plant formulas in acceptance reports. ReportsController::postAssetAcceptanceReport manually joins comma-stripped fields without applying EscapeFormula or the escape_formulas setting, so formula-prefixed values remain executable. Exploitation requires edit rights, a pending acceptance, a reports.view user to export the CSV, and that user to open it in a formula-evaluating spreadsheet; consequences include spreadsheet-context data exfiltration and legacy Windows Excel DDE command execution.
