Credential disclosure via plaintext password email
Published May 22, 2026 · Updated May 22, 2026
Unprotected credential transport in Avantra before 25.3.0 allows attackers to read re-initialized passwords from intercepted email. The NewUserEmailPassword template inserts the ${password} value into email, transmitting the credential in plaintext. Exposure requires that placeholder to remain configured and access to the email path or delivery system; captured passwords enable account access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
