Private repository access via scope-bearing refresh tokens
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Insufficient session expiration in Hex.pm Hexpm 2025-10-10 through 2026-09-21 allows remote authenticated users to retain private-package access. generate_refresh_token/4 copies repository scopes into a 30-day refresh JWT, while the CDN authorizes those claims without checking membership or token type. A retained token therefore reads packages and documentation for prior organizations after membership or session revocation, but grants no write access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
